Enabling people to take charge of their financial futures is what Beth has always been passionate about - women especially. With women, there is extra ground to cover given the baked in societal and economic disparities linked to gender. Growing up in a family that had very little money with parents who did not have the skills to manage it well, Beth learned quickly how to navigate life in survival mode. The many trying financial experiences that ensued in her formative years gave her the grit and determination to go beyond survival and finally thrive. She holds those who struggle similarly close to her heart and is now in a position to model, educate and give back.
Beth began her entrepreneurial career in graphic design in the early 1980s in Poughkeepsie, NY, opening her award-winning design firm B. Jones & Co. In 1997 she tried out corporate life as a consultant in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs and Co. and later at a smaller independent financial advisory firm. In 2005, frustrated by the lack of focus on the client in the traditional financial services world, she set out to create Third Eye Associates, Ltd. Here, with her own company, closer to where her heart is, she has centered her work around providing clients with a holistic approach to Financial Life Planning and Wealth Management Strategies.
An active citizen in her community, Beth has generously shared her skills and vision with numerous non-profit organizations. She currently serves as Treasurer on the board of Working for Women, helping women reach financial independence. She strongly supports the preservation of the rural character and architecture of her town and formerly served as President of Historic Red Hook. Beth is also a former board member of SAGE―Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders in New York City and a former Treasurer of Dutchess County Democratic Committee.
Beth's professional credentials include membership in the Financial Planning Association, the Kinder Institute of Life Planning, and the Sudden Money® Institute, where she serves on the advisory board. She has completed the Life Planning curriculum in the Kinder EVOKE® Method, a life-centered approach to financial planning. Beth has studied Financial Transition Planning at the Sudden Money® Institute and completed the Mastery program in early 2013. She has completed the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) curriculum through the Center for Fiduciary Studies, associated with the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.
Beth is a Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®), a Registered Life Planner (RLP®), and an Investment Adviser Representative of Third Eye Associates, Ltd., a Registered Investment Adviser.
